The DECKHAND® head unit uses an excavator's hydraulics and a variety of arm types to safely and efficiently load or unload pipe and other material.

Our modular design makes it easy to change out arm types to accommodate different pipe sizes, pipe coatings, and pipe wall thickness.

Thoroughly tested padding on the arms allows users to work confidently with coated pipe as well as non-coated pipe.

Thoroughly tested wear pads on the arms allows users to work confidently with coated pipe as well as non-coated pipe.

  • Head units mount to ANY BRAND of excavator in 18 to 20 metric ton range. (Common examples: Caterpillar models 318 and 320.)
  • In-Cab Display allows operator to safely monitor and adjust all functions, hydraulic pressures and volumes from the comfort of the excavator cab.
  • Designed with load holding valves so that pipe is held securely regardless of hydraulic pressure.
  • Requires a single auxiliary hydraulic circuit on excavator or prime mover.
  • Tilts 0 to 25 degrees along main beam.
  • Shifts pipe side to side up to 5.5"

Additional Features:

  • Touchscreen display for easy in-cab adjustment.
  • Load control valve system ensures pipe is never dropped, regardless of hydraulic pressure.
  • Lift light system informs operator of correct pipe arm positioning and hydraulic pressure to initiate a safe lift.
  • Optional stick-mounted camera allows operator to see in even the most difficult spaces.

Thoroughly tested wear pads on the arms allows users to work confidently with coated pipe as well as non-coated pipe.

  • Head units mount to ANY BRAND of excavator in 20 to 36 metric ton range. (Common examples: Caterpillar models 320 and 330.)
  • Tilts 0 to 19 degrees along main beam.
  • Shifts pipe side to side up to 5.5"

Additional Features:

  • Load control valve system ensures pipe is never dropped, regardless of hydraulic pressure.
  • Lift light system informs operator of correct pipe arm positioning and hydraulic pressure to initiate a safe lift.
  • Optional stick-mounted camera allows operator to see in even the most difficult spaces.

Safe and versatile for main line pipe handling,
outperforming all existing pipe handling methods.

  • Patented Pipe Arm design assures that adjacent pipes are never disturbed when picking up roped pipe from a pile or stack.
  • Pipe Arm wear pads insure that coated pipe is NEVER damaged.
  • Head unit mounts to ANY BRAND of excavator in 40 to 49 metric ton range. (Common examples: Caterpillar 345 and 349.)
  • In-Cab Display allows operator to safely monitor and adjust all functions, hydraulic pressures and volumes from the comfort of the excavator cab.
  • Designed with load holding valves so that pipe is held securely regardless of hydraulic pressure.
  • Tilts 0 to 15 degrees along main beam.
  • Shifts pipe side to side up to 8.5"

Additional Features:

  • Load control valve system ensures pipe is never dropped, regardless of hydraulic pressure.
  • Lift light system informs operator of correct pipe arm positioning and hydraulic pressure to initiate a safe lift.
  • Optional stick-mounted camera allows operator to see in even the most difficult spaces.
  • Requires auxiliary one way flow hydraulic circuit on excavator and dedicated case drain line.

Handles the largest and heaviest pipe with ease.

  • Patented Pipe Arm design assures that adjacent pipes are never disturbed when picking up roped pipe from a pile or stack.
  • Pipe Arm wear pads insure that coated pipe is NEVER damaged.
  • Head unit mounts to ANY BRAND of excavator in 60 to 75 metric ton range. (Common examples: Caterpillar 360 and 374.)
  • In-Cab Display allows operator to safely monitor and adjust all functions, hydraulic pressures and volumes from the comfort of the excavator cab.
  • Grab arm function picks up pipe and holds it firmly to attachment.
