The DECKHAND® is revolutionizing the way contractors handle pipe.
The DECKHAND uses an excavator’s hydraulics to safely and efficiently load or unload pipe from a trailer, pipe rack, or drill rig.
The DECKHAND allows for easy installation and maintenance. Benefits include:
- Our design is modular which makes it easy to change out arms to accommodate different pipe sizes, pipe coatings, and pipe wall thickness. The main beam can accept any of the three current arm housing types and additional arm types as they are developed.
- Upper head mounts to ANY BRAND of excavator in 20 to 30 metric ton range. (Common examples would include Caterpillar models 320 and 330.)
- Snow or ice covered pipe can be moved as-is. No more sweeping off pipe!
- Unlike traditional pipe handling methods, the DECKHAND can handle pipe from an off-center position. No more marking centerlines.
- Display in prime mover cab allows operator to monitor and adjust all functions, pressures and volumes from inside the operators cab.
- All DECKHAND controls are located on special handles mounted to excavator joystick controls.
- Rotate function allows for 360 degree continuous rotation of lower head and beam in either direction.
- Shift function allows arms to move along the main beam 5.5 inches. Arms can move left to right independent of each other.Arms can be moved in unison or opposing.
- Tilt function allows for 19 degrees of tilt in both directions.
- Grab arm function is used to pick up pipe and hold firmly to attachment.
- 30,000 lb. lift capacity
- 3,000 PSI maximum working pressure
- Requires auxiliary hydraulic circuit on excavator or prime mover.
- 24 volt electric system
